Move to Kampung Ruat Yan, Kedah after marriage? I imagine that Mat traveled from kuala Sungai Daun to kuala Kampung Ruat by ‘sampan’ as that was the only efficient mode of transportation since the connecting passage or road then was the water pipe reserve.

1966 to Ramlah Saaud:
After marriage, Abdul and Ramlah stayed with Abdul’s parents until the trouble came. The trouble was in a form of the younger sister Aishah, who got divorced and came back to live with the parent and continuously in quarrel with the older sister Jamaliah. “We have to move, tak boleh jadi”. Abdul told Ramlah. So, after I was born, they moved out. I was born in Megat Dewa Tunjang, Jitra Kedah.

Never continue with secondary school in Yan, as by the time he finally able to finish level 6, he was already 18 years old and the Independence is around the corner.

Baling, Kedah is more than 75 km from Kampung Ruat, Yan, Kedah. In 1957, you can imagine, given the road condition, if any, the speed of public transport, if any, and as Baling was ‘hot zone’ for extreme PKM activities, the pressure of getting there for your first job.
Sekolah Kebangsaan Siong is some 10 km from Baling, deeper to the north. My mother told me that she heard that my grandmother actually packed the whole bed mattress, and went with my father to Baling. (to be clarified)

`Suprise me'... Bila baca biografi arwah ayah, patut lah apa yg mengalir dalam tubuh ni, genetik tok nenek mmg terperangkap dalam jasad ni. Dulu pernah jadi nelayan sekejap, tak mabok, tak dak masalah laut... sah ikut tok wan Mat. La jadi pesawah, pi dok pugar tanah... sah ikut tok wan Saaud. Well, this is reallity hidup, tak leh lupa susur galur, dari mana asal usul... then, kita dapat lebih mengenali diri. Satu yg tak berapa bekenan... "perengus tok mat" pun tersangkut kat DNA ni. Anyway, thanks for all the memories.
History always repeat itself. Perahu layaq Tok Mat pernah kena curi. Dengaq kata dia pi cari di setiap kuala dari Ruat sampai Kuala Sala. Yang bezanya, dia jumpak balik, hang jumpak ke dak?
